Changemaker!

Our third #changemaker is Kemo Fatty a youth activist and founder of Green Up Gambia. He is passionate for conservation and seeking environmental justice in The Gambia.

Green Up Gambia is an action and awareness initiative on climate change and environmental issues. Their initiatives include tree planting and education on air and plastic pollution. So far, over 24,000 trees have been planted by young people in 20 communities, while awareness projects have reached over 60,000 locals!

Kemo plans to upscale his school-based projects to educate and empower the next generation to take action on climate change. He hopes that through continued involvement in policy-making, NGOs like his will help kick-start a green Gambian economy using nature based solutions and clean energy.
