Waste & opportunity for youth in Bansang

Waste has become a growing problem in urban Gambia. With demand for spatial land use and growing population. In the central river region, south of the river is Bansang. Youth have taken up Green Jobs and they are connecting the dots in the path to sustainable development.

Gambian Local Government Authorities 'BAC BCC KMC ' need to be empowered together with the National Environment Agency to come up with a comprehensive national waste management strategy.

We must find ways to reinforce the anti-littering regulations, make provisions in the National Environment Management act to make the process of fines and other violation monetary and strict down payment like the seat belt fines. These resources must be used to provide more street bins and enhance the waste collection strategies.
